Catalyst Awards

CREATIVE BRIEF:
Catalyst Awards is a yearly event and awards dinner curated by Catalyst, Inc. It is one of the premier awards for leaders and innovators in the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) space. 

CHALLENGE:
Create a look and feel for the 2025 Experience – this year the Catalyst team is expanding the event to create an elevated experience. They wanted it to feel inspirational, prestigious, and black tie. 

OUTCOME:
Our design team came up with 3 concepts, and my concept was chosen – here was my design rationale:

CONCEPT NAME: Reflections
INSPIRATION: Light reflecting on mirrors; dancing and dazzling. Our light shines brightly to reflect onto others.

• Our award winners are the reflection we should see in the mirror.
• Human nature is to reflect behaviors we see – we are the mirrors and the lights.
• Color rationale – leaning into our Catalyst Blue and broadening the spectrum to reflect all the colors this event embodies.
  • Blue is the color of authority and  trust.
  • Pink symbolizes compassion and hope.
  • Teal promotes clarity.
  • Orange represents change
